There are times where sleep apnea is a mild problem that can be managed by how you lay down or by losing weight. Other times, your sleep apnea is not able to be managed by simple measures.

If you are not able to control your sleep apnea through simple options, you may be directed to your oral surgeon. Sometimes surgery can go a long way towards helping you sleep better at night.

What Your Oral Surgeon Can Do with Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is a big problem for some people. They struggle so much to breathe properly at night that they are miserable all day long. If you are one of the people who has severe sleep apnea, surgery may be the only option you have at long-term relief.

An oral surgeon can help trim part of the back of your palate, or help to decrease some of the tissue in the back of your throat. This can make breathing at night easier, and allow you to get more, high-quality sleep.

You need to go in and see your oral surgeon, explain to them what is going on, and see what options they can present you with. There may not be a lot of options that they can offer, but their answer may be all that you need.

Find out what your oral surgeon can do to help you with your sleep apnea. They can help you finally overcome the struggles you have been facing while trying to sleep each night. You can finally have the option of going from exhausted, distracted, and cranky, to happy, rested, and focused on your daily tasks.

Give your oral surgeon a call today instead of struggling with your sleep apnea for even one more night by yourself. Let them help you get the sleep you need to be happy and healthy!

Please contact our office if you have any questions about sleep apneas effects on your oral health.
